Shu-Chun Weng is currently an under-graduated student of National Taiwan University, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. He is an open source developer working on the PttBBS (http://ptt.cc, the largest Bulletin Board System in Taiwan) project and the Pugs project. He just finished his Google Summer of Code project "Pugs Self-hosting Bootstrap From Perl 5 and Rules" using Perl 5 to translate Perl 6 rules into Haskell code with Parsec, a monadic parser used in the Pugs compiler front-end. Playing with more than ten programming languages, he loves Haskell the most.

講者目前就讀於國立台灣大學資訊工程學系, 是一位 open source developer，參與 PttBBS (http://ptt.cc) 與 Pugs 專案。甫於 2006 年完成 Google Summer of Code 專案 "Pugs Self-hosting Bootstrap From Perl 5 and Rules"，以 Perl 5 將 Perl 6 rules 轉為 Haskell 程式碼. 把玩十數種語言，以 Haskell 為最愛。

目前已經確認的兩場議程，是由唐鳳 (Audrey Tang) 的「Jifty」以及「Perl 5.10」。
「Jifty」，根據官方網站 http://jifty.org/的說法："Jifty is a way to build web applications."
至於「Perl 5.10」，除了是 Perl 有史以來第一次出現二位數小數的版號之外，其實還跟 Perl 5.8 以前的版本有著相當大的差異。例如被重新寫過的 regex engine，named capture，還有一些從 perl6 取用的功能。
這兩場都將是 90 分鐘的 session，確定的時間將會另外安排在議程中。

After Australia and Israel, Taiwan is the third country to run OSDC (Open Source Developer’s Conference, OSDC.tw). Although there are many things to improve when we first hold the conference last year, but the event was a big hit. Therefore, we will face more challenges next year, and it will be an important issue to be admitted by everybody.

Of course, there are a lot of progresses and changes in the development of information technology and programming, and it will be a great opportunity to communicate these subjects in the conference. In the consequence, we are going to call for papers now, and we hope there will be more people join us in April 2007.

The topic of OSDC.tw 2007 will be the hottest "2.0" concept, but what we actually want is "Programming 2.0", which means programmers can develop open source software projects in a more efficient and simple way, and get the higher executive speed. We welcome contributions from all fields on topics related to the latest open source development tools, and present your new ideas to the open source communities.

The proposal deadline is in the end of January, 2007. The presenting language includes English and Chinese. English Speakers will have a Chinese translation during the presentation. Conference registration will be available in the beginning of February, 2007.

在澳洲，以色列之後，台灣是第三個舉辦 OSDC (Open Source Developer’s Conference) 的國家，雖然第一次舉辦時有許多還可以改進的地方，但是整體而言，整個研討會還算是相當受到歡迎。因此接下來的一年，雖然我們有更多的挑戰，而怎麼讓研討會更受到大家的認同卻是一項重要的課題
當然，在技術的發展與程式的開發上，一年間也有不少的進步與改變。而且透過研討會，也是讓社群聯絡交流的絕佳機會。因此我們希望明年的四月，OSDC.tw 能有更讓更多的人願意來參與。當然，我們也要開始為明年四月做準備，所以現在開始，我們就要開始接受投稿了，至於明年的主題，則是現在最受矚目的「2.0」。不過我們需要的是「Programming 2.0」，也就是讓開發者能以更快的效率，更簡便的方式進行開發，並且求得更高的執行速度。投稿的截止時間至 2007 年的一月底，而我們將於二月初公佈議程，並且開發報名，至於有任何最新的消息，我們也將持續公佈於 OSDC.tw 的官方網站。
